The
International Towing and Recovery Museum will relocate to a new building but
remain in Chattanooga, Tenn. The decision resulted from a vote held at the
International Towing and Recovery Museum annual membership meeting held on Sept.
28. Members voted in a new board of
directors charged with selecting a new museum building site. The existing museum
building at 401 Broad Street in downtown Chattanooga was purchased last year and
will be renovated as part of the city’s Regional History Museum expansion.
All plans must be finalized and the International Towing Museum relocated

The 2002–2003 board directors
are: George Connolly, president (CO); Bill Height, first vice president (CA);
John Borowski, second vice president (MA); Rolfe Johnson, treasurer (WA);
Janetta Bowman, secretary (TN); Clarissa Powell, sergeant-at-arms (FL); Norbert
Bertling (IA); Wayne Martineau (MA), Marshall ‘Ski’ Pieczentkowski (KS); and
Chuck Schmidt (NY). The general membership also voted to investigate museum
“satellite” locations that would house tow trucks and/or displays – the
first such location being the World War II and Classic Car Museum in Auburn,
Ind. The International Towing and Recovery Museum is located at 401 Broad Street
in historic downtown Chattanooga, Tenn. It is open weekdays from 10 a.m. to 4:30
